Before Dubai International Cricket Stadium came, The only cricket stadium which was used for Cricket was Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. 15 Tests, 51 ODIs and 72 T20 International Matches have been played here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

The Sheikh Zayed Stadium is a cricket stadium located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Built-in 2004, the construction of the venue cost a sum of $23 million. With the Intercontinental Cup fixture match between Scotland and Kenya, the ground of Sheikh Zayed Stadium was inaugurated. Since the year of its establishment, the ground has witnessed several international sports events and cricket matches. During the 2005 Pakistan earthquake, a charity match between India and Pakistan was set to support the disaster survivors. The first test match played at the venue was between Pakistan and South Africa in 2010. In 2006, the first ODI match was hosted at the ground between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
