The first ODI played on the grounds of Himachal Pradesh stadium was in January 2013 between India and England. The only test match played was in 2017. The ground is also used for playing home matches for the Himachal Pradesh cricket team and the IPL team, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).
