It is located in the port city of Chattogram, in south-eastern Bangladesh. It has only been nearly 2 decades since the establishment of the ZAC Stadium. Formerly known as Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium, the venue was built in the run-up to the 2004 Under-19 World Cup. After receiving full international status from the ICC in the year 2006, the ground hosted its very first test match the same year. It was a Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka match. In 2006 only, the first ODI was also played on the grounds of ZAC stadium and it was again a Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka match.
