Because of the venue’s intimidating atmosphere, it is called Bullring and also Imperial Wanderers from 2020 to 2025 due to sponsorship reasons. Built in 1956, the purpose of the construction of the Wanderers Stadium was to replace the Old Wanderers Stadium. The ground hosts international cricket matches as well as home matches. The home matches for the Highveld Lions are also played at the venue. The first test hosted at the Wanderers Stadium was in the year 1956 and the match was between South Africa and England. The first ODI played on the venue’s ground was between South Africa and India in 1992.
