Built in 2008, the venue is owned by the Government of Chattisgarh and is operated by Chattisgarh State Cricket Sangh. Naya Raipur is the third-largest cricket stadium in India and the fourth-largest worldwide. After the venue's construction, the first international match played on its ground was by the Canada national cricket team’s practice match against the Chattisgarh state team in 2010. The stadium is the home ground for the Chattisgarh cricket team and the second home for the IPL franchise team, Delhi Daredevils. As of now, the venue majorly hosts IPL CL T-20 matches.
