Opened in 1992, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is a small yet very good cricket stadium in Pakistan. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is home to the home of Greatest Pakistani Bowler Shoaib Akhtar(who used to be called Rawalpindi Express). This is cricket exclusive ground and does have a Floodlights facility as well.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is in DKS Rawalpindi in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The stadium was constructed in 1992 and is currently owned by Pakistan Cricket Board. In the same year of its inauguration, the ground witnessed an international cricket match where Pakistan faced Sri Lanka as an opponent in ODI. Previously, Rawalpindi Club cricket Ground was often used as an international venue to host matches. However, during the 1995-96 Cricket World Cup, the spotlight shifted to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as the ground became Pakistan’s 14th Test cricket venue. The first Test match hosted at Rawalpindi stadium was in 1993 between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. While the first ODI took place in 1992 in Pakistan vs Sri Lanka match.
