Newlands Cricket Ground is a cricket ground located in Cape Town, South Africa. For sponsorship reasons, the ground is also called Six Gun Grill Newlands. It was built in 1888 and is owned by the Western Province Cricket Association in partnership with Sanlam. Situated near Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak, the Newland Cricket Ground is considered one of the most beautiful sports venues in the world. The ground hosts Test matches, ODIs, and T20Is and is also the home ground for the Cape Cobras cricket team. The first test match played on the Newland ground was in the year 1889 between South Africa and England. Later in 1992, South Africa and India faced each other as opponents in the first ODI match hosted at the venue.
