Since the naming rights sponsor to the ground was announced to be Hollywoodbets in October 2019, the ground’s name was changed to Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium and will continue to be the same till 2024. The venue is used for hosting several matches in South Africa and is also known as the home ground of the team KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins. The first test match hosted at the venue was on January 1923 between South Africa and England. 71 years later, the ground witnessed its first ODI match between South and India. It was the ground of Kingsmead where Yuvraj Singh made his iconic six consecutive sixes in the 2007 World Twenty20.
