John Davies Oval is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Queenstown, Otago on the South Island of New Zealand. The venue was opened in 1997 on Queenstown Lakes District Council-owned land. Located between the foot of the Remarkables and the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the venue offers a great viewing experience to the spectators visiting the stadium. International cricket matches are regularly hosted on the Oval ground. The first ODI played in John Davies Oval was between New Zealand and India on Jan 4, 2003. Though, there is no recent record of test matches being held at the venue. Mostly, the ground hosts ODIs, local Twenty20 competitions, school cricket matches, etc.
