Eden Park is a sports stadium located in central Auckland, a city in New Zealand. With a seating capacity of 50,000, the venue holds the position of being New Zealand's largest sports stadium. Opened in the year 1900, the stadium hosts several sports events including cricket matches, rugby leagues, and association football matches. For hosting the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the south stand of the stadium was rebuilt. Mostly, the ground is used for cricket matches in summer and for rugby union in winter. Eden Park Trust has its headquarters in the stadium and thus, holds the ownership of the ground. The 2015 Cricket World Cup was hosted at Eden Park jointly by Australia and New Zealand.
