New Zealand National Cricket Team played its first Test cricket on January 1930. The team was the fifth to join the group of text cricket playing national teams. Also, New Zealand was the first team to play ODI cricket along with Australia and England in the year 1973. So far, the national cricket team of New Zealand has been involved in all ICC events.

Speaking of the performance, after the first Test match played by the team in 1930, it took them almost 26 years to get their first Test victory. As of now, the team has played around 1429 international matches in which they have won 566 matches and lost 635 matches. The rest of the matches were either tied, drawn, or ended with no result. The ranking of the national team is 5th in tests and T20Is.
