The group was founded in 2022 and has its headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa. The Newlands Cricket Ground will serve as the team's home ground. The competition is slated to take place from January 10 to February 2023. The owner of the Mumabai-based League Team, Mumbai Indians, Reliance Industries, is also the owner of the MI Cape League team. Speaking of the team members, MI Cape has players from South Africa, West Indies, and England. Rashid Khan of Afghanistan is the current captain of the team and the team will be coached by Simon Katich.
