In international women's cricket, Ireland is represented by the national women’s cricket team of Ireland. The Irish women's squad represents both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland because cricket in Ireland is controlled by Cricket Ireland and conducted on an All-Ireland basis. Ireland participated in its first ODI in 1987 against Australia and made its first of five World Cup appearances the following year in 1988. Ireland was regarded as a top-tier squad throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, participating in regular ODI series and finishing as high as fifth at the World Cup. The team defeated Pakistan in its lone Test match, which it played in 2000. The current WODI ranking of Ireland is 11th and in WT20I, it’s 10th.
