In international women's cricket, India is represented by the women's national cricket team, sometimes referred to as Team India or Women in Blue. The Board of Control for Cricket in India governs the team. The team is captained by Harmanpreet Kaur and coached by Hrishikesh Kantikar. Test status was granted to the team in 1976 and is a full member of the ICC since 1926. India played its first Test match in 1976 against the West Indies, and it hosted the 1978 World Cup, where it also made its ODI debut. India's first T20I match was against England in 2006. Two times, the team has advanced to the ODI World Cup final, where they fell to Australia by 98 runs in 2005 and England by 9 runs in 2017. The current ranking of India women’s national cricket team is 4th in WODI and 4th in WT20I.
