The team that represents Bangladesh in international women's cricket competitions is the Bangladesh women's national cricket team. The team was granted Associate membership of the ICC in 1977 and full membership in 2000. Prior to competing in and winning the 2007 ACC Women's Tournament, they played and defeated Thailand twice in July 2007, marking their debut on the international stage. After placing fifth in the 2011 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Bangladesh was given One-Day International status in 2011. They thus achieved qualification for the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20, making their debut at a top-tier female international competition. The team's current ranking in WODI is 7th and WT20I is 9th.
